Grindelwald in a unique alpine landscape offers sights and events for all interests and budgets. The world-famous backdrop of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau set the scene for Grindelwald.

Many film scenes were shot in the region of Grindelwald, particularly on the north face of the Eiger.

We will take the gondula from Grindelwald to the Männlichen. The hike from the Männlichen to the Kleine Scheidegg is a fairly easy short route with only slight ascents and descents.

From Kleine Scheidegg, you have superb views to the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau plus other peaks in the Grindelwald area including the Wetterhorn and Schreckhorn. The trail leads through grasslands where many alpine flowers can be seen in summer. They contrast sharply with the rock faces you encounter. This route is perfectly suitable for families with small children and for people who want to walk in the high mountains without too much effort.
Duration of the walk about 1 1/2h.

We will then have dinner at a restaurant on the Männlichen.

If you do not want to walk, we will meet on the Kleine Scheidegg.

The ambiance will bring you back into the romantic old and cozy alphut times. Many pictures and accessories around the famous St. Bernard dog named Barry will tell you the history around this special dog, as he saved many people's lives about 100 years ago thanks so his exquisite smell- and orientation sence.

Enjoy a special dinner (buffet) in a great ambiance at the restaurant/hotel eiger!

Those visiting Schynige Platte with the cogwheel railway will feel transported back to the days of belle époque. The nostalgic railway takes 50 minutes to travel up the 7 kilometre stretch. Wooden benches in the carriages, rolling stock from the 19th century and conductors in historic uniforms recall a bygone era.

During the journey and once at the top, visitors enjoy fantastic views of the Eiger, Mönch & Jungfrau. Schynige Platte is the departure point for very popular mountain hikes. It is also the site of the Botanical Alpine Garden, home to around 600 species of Alpine plants.
