The recommended international airport is Zürich. Once in Zürich you can reach St. Gallen by rail way (appx. 1 hour travel time) or by car
(appx. 1 hour travel time).
By Rail
Upon arrival at the airport in Zürich
( Zürich Flughafen ), take the train to St. Gallen. The train will make stops in between Zürich and St. Gallen but there is no need to change trains.
A train schedule can be found at http://www.sbb.ch/index_e.htm . The train is both affordable and convenient. Check with your local travel agent for the availability of special train ticket packages.

By Road
To reach St. Gallen from the Zürich Airport use the following directions:
Merge onto A51 toward ZÜRICH/GLATTBRUGG.
A51 becomes DREIECK ZÜRICH-NORD.
DREIECK ZÜRICH-NORD becomes A1.
Take exit number 82- toward ST. GALLEN-ST. FIDEN/TROGEN.
Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto SPLÜGENSTRASSE.
Turn RIGHT onto LANGGASSE.
LANGGASSE becomes SANKT GALLERSTRASSE.
Turn RIGHT onto ARBONERSTRASSE.
Turn RIGHT.
Turn SLIGHT RIGHT.
