University of Zürich, Switzerland
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to inform you that the 2003 Hepatobiliary Satellite
Meeting meeting will take place on August 15, afternoon, and
August 16, all day, at the Rondo Conference Center in Pontresina,
Switzerland. The European Hepatobiliary Transport Group intends
to foster exchange of information as well as collaborations
between research groups working in the field of of hepatobiliary
transport of substances handled by the liver. The first informal
meeting took place in 1984. On the occasion of the 10th meeting,
the Journal of Hepatology published a supplement reflecting
the scientific interests of this group (see Journal of Hepatology,
Volume 24, Supplement 1, 1996).
The European Hepatobiliary Transport Group welcomes the participation
of additional groups working in the area of hepatobiliary transport
to extend the contacts between established groups in the field
and groups newly entering this fascinating area of research.
Once again, this will be an informal work-in-progress meeting
featuring short presentations, a plenary lecture and plenty
of time for discussions. Usually, each participating research
group presents a project as an informal, oral short-communication.
In order to arrange these presentations, please submit an abstract
not exceeding one page. The deadline for abstract submission
is June 30, 2003. Submit abstracts to bstieger@kpt.unizh.ch.
Please note that there will be no poster presentations. If there
are too many groups wishing to give an oral presentation, the
organizers may have to select the presentations based on the
abstracts. Attendees are also welcome to attend without presentation.
The anticipated cost per person will be 100 Swiss Francs, excluding
accommodation. Everybody is required to make his/her own hotel
reservation. To qualify for special conference discounts, please
make your hotel arrangements via the BioMedical Transporters 2003 on-line
hotel reservation WEB site: All BioMedical Transporters 2003 attendees
are invited to register. For inquiries and registration, please
send an e-mail message to: bstieger@kpt.unizh.ch.
We will be happy to inform you about further updates regarding
the Meeting. The scientific schedule will be announced shortly
before the conference.
